Ingredientes:
15g (½ oz) fresh yeast
15g (½ oz) caster sugar
150mls (½ pint) liquid skimmed milk
30mls (1 fl oz) MCT Oil
150mls (¼ pint) water
480g (1 lb.) strong plain flour
2 tsp. salt
Liquid skimmed milk to glaze
Servers: This can make 2 small plaits
Oven temperature 220°C (425°F) or gas mark 7
Method:
Add the yeast and sugar to the luke warm milk and water, allow to dissolve
Whisk the oil into the yeast liquid
Sieve the flour and salt into a mixing bowl, make a well in the centre and pour in the liquid. Mix into a dough, turn out onto a floured board and knead.
Place into clean bowl and cover with damp cloth. Leave in a warm place to rise until double in size.
Knead dough lightly and cut in half.
Divide each portion into three, roll out each piece to a sausage shape
Join the three pieces at one end and make into a plait, pressing the ends together firmly
Place on baking tray and leave in a warm place to prove for 15 – 20 minutes
Brush with skimmed milk and bake for 25 – 30 minutes or until the base of the loaf sounds hollow when tapped.
Cool on wire tray.
